ALL ABOUT IMAGING

Cooperation among Researchers & Industry

MORE THAN INFORMATION EXCHANGE BETWEEN RESEARCHERS AND INDUSTRY

Research on correlative multimodal imaging

One of the strengths of Austrian BioImaging/CMI is the research on correlative multimodality imaging (CMI).
Today, no single imaging technology can provide holistic information about a given sample. However, this limitation can be overcome by combining and multimodally correlating imaging technologies. Close cooperation of Austrian BioImaging/CMI partners in multimodality pipelines will trigger innovative approaches and interdisciplinary projects.

Development of cutting-edge imaging techniques

The strength of some groups lies in the remarkable combination of industry-driven applied research projects with an exceptional range of analytical, chemical, and imaging methods.
e.g., the innovation center at TU Wien
Some members excel in the development, design, and implementation of biomedical imaging technologies for preclinical research and clinical diagnostics.
e.g., center for medical physics and biomedical engineering

Imaging data analysis and visualisation

One of our member, VRVIs, is a leading research company in the field of visual computing, which develops highly efficient methods for biomedical image analysis. In VRVIs, the biomedical image informatics research group is an interdisciplinary team that addresses challenges by providing novel visual computing solutions for complete image-based workflows in the fields of medicine and life sciences.

We are the Austrian node of Euro-BioImaging

A FOR IMAGING IN THE HEART OF EUROPE

Euro-BioImaging is the European landmark research infrastructure for biological and biomedical imaging as recognised by the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI). Through Euro-BioImaging, life scientists can access imaging instruments, expertise, training opportunities and data management services that they might not find at their home institutions or among their collaboration partners.
In recognition of its outstanding role as a service provider with high quality standards, Austrian BioImaging/CMI has also become the official Euro-BioImaging Node of Austria in 2021. Through Euro-BioImaging, access is provided to trans-national users, international networks, and European funding opportunities for the services offered by the nodes.
