COMULIS – Correlated multimodal imaging in life science

Short description:

Within the framework of the COMULISglobe project, Euro-BioImaging will be awarding a total of 4 grants for access to Euro-BioImaging Nodes, specifically designed to support correlative and multimodal imaging.

Two grants will be awarded to European researchers (including from non-EU countries that are Euro-BioImaging members) accessing services at Euro-BioImaging Nodes. Each grant will provide up to EUR 2000 in support of imaging projects that tackle important research questions using two or more imaging modalities.

Two grants will be awarded for international (non-European) researchers accessing services at Euro-BioImaging Nodes. Each grant will provide up to EUR 3000 in support of imaging projects employing two or more imaging modalities.

Eligible Costs

Travel costs, consumables, instrumentation access costs, or sample mailing fees are eligible costs.

How to apply

To apply for this funding, please login and complete the full Euro-BioImaging access application and indicate that you are applying for COMULISglobe funding by clicking on the appropriate tickbox in the application form. In your application, specifically highlight the ways in which access to multimodal correlative imaging technologies is particularly essential to your research question.

Deadline for submission of the application: November 1st, 5 pm CEST.

Selection criteria

Applications will be evaluated by experts in correlative imaging after the deadline and selected for funding based on scientific excellence and impact, and how central correlative and multimodal imaging is in achieving the intended outcomes. Diversity among selected projects in terms of research domain, imaging technologies, and location, will be taken into account in the evaluation.

How the funding works

The grants will be delivered as reimbursements to the users and/or to their hosting Institutions after presentation of the related receipts/invoices. Please note: the party receiving the reimbursement is liable for any tax that should be imposed upon receipt of the reimbursement. Users will be provided with more details after award of the grants

European Horizon Call: AgroSERV

Short description:

AgroServ enables access to many research infrastructures (RIs) across Europe for researchers from academia and industry. The RIs can be used for experiments with scientific or technological objectives to answer basic and applied questions related to sustainable and resilient agriculture and agroecological transition. This includes access to 47 imaging service categories offered through 9 Euro-BioImaging Nodes.

The Call is open to researchers who want to access the 200+ services offered by the AgroServ consortium which you can find in the catalog of services.

Researchers interested in accessing these services should submit proposals for projects that address interdisciplinary topics in agroecology by October 23rd, 2023, 12:00 am CEST.

The application process consists of two stages: the current pre-application phase and a full application phase for selected projects. In the current pre-application phase, researchers can indicate their interest to access any of the services listed in the service catalog. The Euro-BioImaging access managers of are available to offer guidance and support both in the selection of services as well as in navigating the application process. Contact us at agroservprojects@eurobioimaging.eu.

As the call aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, applicants should submit proposals that explore interdisciplinary subjects within the topic of agroecology and which use at least two services offered by different research infrastructures. However, if a scientifically excellent project requires the use of only one infrastructure service, we strongly encourage submission of an according pre-application for a single service. During the full application phase, the Euro-Bioimaging team will support researchers in potentially identifying additional services that complement the objectives of their research or work with coordination to allow AgroSERV support for individual service projects.
